The 6th China International Finance Forum (第六屆中國國際金融論壇) was successfully held from 24 to 25 October in Shanghai Pudong. TMA was invited to be one of the co-organizers this year. It was a good and prestigious event with over 500 high-level local and overseas market participants attended. Many distinguished speakers including Mr Wang Huaqing, Secretary of Discipline Inspection Commission of CBRC and Mr Khalid Malik, UN Resident Coordinator in China & UNDP Resident Representative in China, delivered keynote speeches. On behalf of TMA, Mr Zhang Wei Zhong and Ms Ashley Zhang, Members of External Affairs Committee of TMA, and Mr Stephen Ng, COO of TMA, were invited to attend.
In order to raise TMA’s profile and enhance networking in Shanghai, Mr Ng also paid visits to related association and university by making good use of this trip. Mr Ng exchanged views with Ms Zhang Yi, Vice President of China Foreign Exchange Trade System (CFETS). Initial networking and mutual cooperation opportunities in Shanghai had been explored. Furthermore, another meeting with Mr Tony Koo, Managing Director of MBA Centre of Shanghai University had been arranged. Issues on cross-border training courses had been discussed and would be further examined. In sum, this was an excellent and cost-effective chance to pave the way for more events and activities in Mainland China.
