Professional Course in Back Office Operations of Treasury Markets

Treasury Markets Association (TMA) is pleased to announce the launch of the new intake of the Professional Course in Back Office Operations of Treasury Markets in collaboration with Li Ka Shing Institute of Professional and Continuing Education (LiPACE) of the Open University of Hong Kong. This professional course aims to provide a specialized training in the back office treasury operations related to trade confirmations, settlement and clearing, and risk management and control. The course is scheduled to commence on 7 Sep 2010 (Tuesday), holding one lesson from 7:00 to 10:00pm on Tuesdays once a week.

 

Course Structure and Duration

The duration of the course is 40 hours (37 contact hours plus one 3-hour examination). A TMA member is entitled to get 40 CPT credits upon completion of the course.

l           Treasury markets vs. other financial markets

l           Deal capture, trade entry and confirmations

l           Settlement, netting and clearing

l           Reconciliations and investigations

l           Treasury systems and data management

l           Risk management, controls, compliance, documentation

l           Application of foreign exchange products

l           Seminar & Site Visit

 

Award and Professional Recognition

Upon satisfactory completion of the course, participants will be awarded a “Certificate of Completion” jointly issued by TMA and LiPACE. Participants will be eligible to apply for admission as a TMA member and their membership fee for that corresponding year will be waived accordingly.

 

 
Qualification Framework (QF) & Continuing Education Fund (CEF Course Code: 23K07921-3)

This course is recognized under the QF as a level 4 qualification and has also been included in the list of reimbursable courses for CEF purposes. Eligible applicants will be reimbursed 80% of the course fee upon successful completion of the course with at least 70% attendance, subject to a maximum sum of HKD10,000. Please be reminded that applicants must submit the application form to the office of the CEF BEFORE the course commences.

Course Fee

The course fee is HK$5,000. TMA members will enjoy 10% discount anytime.

 

For non-TMA members, you can enjoy

i) Early-bird discount (10%) for enrollment on or before 1 August 2010; or

ii) Group discount (10%) for at least 3 applications enrolling together on the same class of the same course in the same intake on or before 20 August 2010.

 

Note: The Continuing Education Fund (CEF) does NOT allow applicants to receive any tuition fee discount EXCEPT for Early-bird discount.  In other words, applicants who would like to claim CEF please consider early-bird discount.
