In recent years, we have seen explosive growth and changes from various blockchain applications and the underlying Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT). Many powerful applications are coming forth that can potentially transform the financial industry's banking processes and customer experience for the better. Specially Asset Tokenization has the potential to make traditional assets more accessible and unlock value, thereby generating a whole new class of investible digital assets in the process. In addition, Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs) have the potential to make cross border payment more efficient while pushing the boundaries of programmable money, making the purpose and use of money even more targeted and precise.

Against this background, TMA is delighted to have invited Mr. Heng Koon How, Head of Markets Strategy, Executive Director, Global Economics and Markets Research, and Ms. Lyselle Tan, Senior Vice President, Blockchain & Digital Assets, UOB as the guest speakers. In the presentation, Mr. Heng and Ms. Tan will discuss with Members the various opportunities and risks around both Asset Tokenization and CBDCs.
