Greater Bay Area (“GBA”) is one of the most economically vibrant area in China and pioneer for achieving the national “Dual Carbon” goals. Under this background, there are tremendous needs for green and sustainable finance to finance the low-carbon transition. Hong Kong, being the international financial centre in the GBA, is best situated to capture this unparalleled cross-boundary opportunities. 

TMA is delighted to have invited Mr Fei Lau, SVP, Sustainability Strategy, Economics and Strategic Planning Department, Bank of China (Hong Kong) to be the guest speaker. The seminar will explore the trend of low-carbon transition in GBA so as the potential for cross-boundary sustainable finance. The position of Hong Kong and how financial institutions can capture such opportunities will also be discussed.

Mr. Fei Lau is the Head of Sustainability Strategy at Bank of China (Hong Kong). He is responsible for coordinating formulation of the sustainability strategy of the Bank, pushing forward key sustainable projects and researching on cutting-edge sustainability topics, such as green washing risk management, green fintech, carbon neutrality planning, etc. He was invited by several local and international organisations for giving speeches, including EY, Deloitte, Treasury Market Association of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Green Finance Association and Bank Negara Malaysia. Mr. Lau has on-hand experience in strategic planning for banks for years and have served in public organisations in Hong Kong such as the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, and has in-depth knowledge on financial industry.

Participants are entitled to receive 1 CPD (TMA) credit upon completion of the seminar. TMA is the administrator for the Enhanced Competency Framework on Treasury Management (ECF-TM) and a recognized institution of Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) for providing continuing professional development (CPD) activities. The CPD hour can be used to meet the CPD requirements of the ECF-TM and the SFC. To qualify for the CPD credit or attendance certificate of the seminar, all participants have to sign-in and sign-out. We regret that neither CPD nor attendance certificate will be given to those who are late for the seminar or leave early. TMA Office will update TMA Individual Members’ CPD record after the seminar is held.
