Cheung has close to three decades of extensive global investment banking
experience. He is currently the Senior
Partner and CEO, Asia Pacific, at StormHarbour Securities. StormHarbour is an independent merchant
banking partnership. The firm was awarded “Boutique Investment Bank of the
Year” by The Banker Magazine.
In 2007, Mr Cheung
joined The Royal Bank of Scotland as the Head of Emerging Markets and Regional
Treasurer in Asia. After RBS led a
consortium to acquire ABN Amro Bank, he headed up the integration of the two
banks’ market businesses in Asia which at the peak represented more than GBP 1
billion revenue.
Mr Cheung was with DBS
from 2000 to 2007 to build the Bank’s global derivative and credit product
businesses. Prior to DBS, during 1995-2000, Mr Cheung was Managing Director in
CIBC World Market, Singapore. He was a founding member of the Bank’s global
financial product initiative and set up its derivative operation in Singapore
from scratch. Mr Cheung started his
investment banking career in 1987, Canada, working for Bank of Montreal,
followed by Burns Fry in Toronto.
Mr Cheung is also an
avid angel investor in Fintech area. His portfolio companies include social
trading, expert-sharing and insur-tech. Mr Cheung, a Hong Kong native, is a
Chartered Financial Analyst and holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (Civil
Engineering) degree from the University of Toronto and a MBA degree from York
University, Canada. He has written in numerous journals, including Risk
Magazine – a leading derivative publication. He is a regular columnist in local
Chinese newspapers. He is also an Executive Board Member of the TMA.
Participants
are entitled to receive 1 CPD (TMA) credit upon completion of the seminar. TMA
is the administrator for the Enhanced Competency Framework on Treasury
Management (ECF-TM) and a recognized institution of Securities and Futures
Commission (SFC) for providing continuing professional development (CPD)
activities. The CPD hours can be used to meet the CPD requirements of the
ECF-TM and the SFC. To qualify for the
CPD credits or attendance certificate of the seminar, all participants have to
sign-in and sign-out. We regret that neither CPD nor attendance certificate
will be given to those who are late for the seminar or leave early. TMA Office
will update TMA Individual Members’ CPD record after the seminar is held.
